Trama
Lily Bart (Gillian Anderson) vive nella New York dei primi anni del 1900 e non è ricca ma è stata allevata dalla zia nel lusso. Per risolvere il problema deve sposare un uomo ricco. Il problema è che il suo unico grande amore è Lawrence Seden (Eric Stoltz), un avvocato piuttosto enigmatico.
