David (Jeremy Irvine) is a young American actor with dreams of reaching international stardom. However, he is so superficial that he doesn’t even bother reading scripts that come his way, until his agent Mildred (Whoopi Goldberg) forces him to accept the leading role in “Giacomo in Love”, a film directed by the legendary Italian filmmaker Ruggero Mitri (Paolo Calabresi). Thinking it’s a story about Casanova, David arrives on set in Recanati totally unprepared and is assigned to Silvia (Denise Tantucci), a local coach tasked with educating the American on the Great Poet.
